Find the download
- Sign in to Etsy.com in a browser using the account you used to buy the pattern.
- Open your account menu, then Purchases.
- Find the order and choose Download Files when it is available.
- Save the files somewhere you can find them again, then open the PDF with a PDF reader.
For a guest purchase, use the download link in Etsy's receipt email. If payment is still being processed, the files may not be ready yet. Made-to-order digital items follow a different delivery process from instant downloads.
On a phone or tablet
Use your phone's web browser for the download step, then open the saved file from its downloads or files folder. If a link opens the Etsy app automatically, open Etsy.com directly in the browser and go to your purchases there.
Keep a local copy of your pattern before starting a stitching session. A larger screen or a printed chart may be more comfortable for following a detailed design than repeatedly zooming on a phone.
Check which file you received
A purchase can contain several PDFs with different purposes. Read their names and the instructions before printing: you may have a color chart, a black-and-white chart, a materials page or an access document. If an access document contains a pattern-library link, follow the instructions in that document.
Keep personal access links and pattern files private. If you receive a ZIP archive, extract it first, then open the PDFs inside. A downloaded PDF does not need to be converted into an image to print it.
If something is missing
Confirm the account and order, check your receipt email, and look in the browser's download list. Compare the files with the listing's description of what is included. If you still cannot access a Stitch Jam Studio purchase, contact us through your Etsy order or email jamstitch.studio@gmail.com with enough order information for us to find it.
Once the chart is open, our guide to reading a cross-stitch pattern explains the grid and symbol key.
