🪢 CHOOSING YOUR FABRIC The background is left unstitched, so the fabric colour is part of the finished piece. Recommended: white, pale grey or silver Aida, that is what every photo shows. Please avoid black, charcoal or navy: the figure, the door and the porch post are all worked in DMC 310 Black and would disappear into a dark ground, and no dark version has been test-stitched. Deep cream or butter tones are worth skipping too, the golden 728 light cone loses its edge against them.
