Please avoid black, charcoal or navy: the figure, the door and the porch post are all worked in DMC 310 Black and would disappear into a dark ground, and no dark version has been test-stitched. Deep cream or butter tones are worth skipping too, the golden 728 light cone loses its edge against them.
