Two nosy white geese lean in to see what you are doing. This funny goose cross stitch pattern PDF is a quick, satisfying stitch for beginners - only the birds are stitched, so the fabric itself becomes the background and the whole piece works up far faster than it looks. The pair are worked in soft whites and greys with bright orange-red beaks, hand-illustrated rather than cartoonish, so the finished piece reads as a proper little farmhouse bird portrait. No text, no backstitch, no fractional stitches - just full cross stitches in eight colors.

CHOOSING YOUR FABRIC Because this is a partial-coverage design, your fabric colour IS the background, and the geese sit directly against it. The two versions in the photos are blush pink and a warm greige/taupe, and either is a safe, tested choice - as is any soft mid-tone. Please do NOT use pure white or pale ivory Aida: the geese are stitched largely in DMC BLANC, and their bodies would disappear into the cloth. At the other end, black or charcoal is not recommended either - the eyes and the darkest grey neck shading are the deepest threads in the palette and would be lost against a very dark ground, and I have not photographed the design on dark fabric.

Good to know
You are buying a PDF chart, not a finished piece and not a kit. No fabric, floss or hoop is included. Colors on a screen can look different from real DMC floss. The preview shows how the finished piece could look. Your result depends on fabric count and floss. Files are in English. You need a PDF reader to open the charts. Free ones work fine.
Returns
Because this is an instant download, all sales are final. No refunds, returns or exchanges once the files are available. If a file will not open, the download stops halfway, or you got the wrong item, message me and I will fix it.
Print it. Hoop it. Stitch it loud.
