A single horned beetle seen from straight above, drawn like a specimen plate: the wing cases run from bright turquoise at the centre out to royal blue at the rim, split by a lemon-yellow seam down the back, and the tall central horn, the curved side horns, the legs and the antennae are picked out in lemon and straw yellow against royal blue. The eyes are near-black with a pale glint. The background is not stitched, so it reads like a little enamel brooch - a cute, quick, tidy piece for a small frame, a hoop or a card front. This is the third of a four-bug set drawn in the same style, so they can be stitched as a matching row.

Good to know
