Koi fish cross stitch pattern PDF - two koi circling a rising sun, with lotus flowers in bloom. An instant-download counted chart, beginner friendly, with no backstitch anywhere.
A black-and-gold koi and a cream-and-orange koi turn slowly around a rising sun, framed by two blush-pink lotus blossoms resting on their lily pads. It is a calm, balanced piece in the Japanese decorative tradition, and it finishes large enough to frame as a real wall piece rather than a small accent - a proper project to work through, one easy block at a time.

🪢 CHOOSING YOUR FABRIC - please read, this one matters There is no blue floss anywhere in this chart. The water IS the fabric: the pond is whatever colour Aida you choose, showing between the stitches. That makes your fabric part of the picture rather than just a background. - Recommended: a light dusty blue-grey Aida. This is the fabric shown in the photos. - Please avoid white, cream, ivory, beige, tan and oatmeal. The pale koi is stitched in DMC 712 Cream and 739 Tan Ultra Very Light, with DMC 613 Drab Brown Very Light in the fins, and those flosses lose their edges against a near-white or sandy ground. - Please avoid black, charcoal and navy. The dark koi is stitched in DMC 310 Black, 3799 Pewter Grey Very Dark and 535 Ash Grey Very Dark, and it disappears into a dark ground. If you would like a change from the photos, stay in the blue-grey and soft-teal family - cool enough to read as water, light enough to keep the dark koi visible. We have only photographed it on the blue-grey shown, so treat other colours as untested.

Good to know
You are buying a PDF chart, not a finished piece and not a kit. No fabric, floss or hoop is included. Colors on a screen can look different from real DMC floss. The preview shows how the finished piece could look. Your result depends on fabric count and floss. Files are in English. You need a PDF reader to open the charts. Free ones work fine.
Returns
Because this is an instant download, all sales are final. No refunds, returns or exchanges once the files are available. If a file will not open, the download stops halfway, or you got the wrong item, message me and I will fix it.
Print it. Hoop it. Stitch it loud.
